Introduction The Iranian Revolution or Islamic Revolution of 1979 is known as the process of mobilizations that took place in Iran with the aim of overthrowing the Pahlavi dynasty in the person of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The result was the establishment of the current Islamic Republic of Iran under a theocratic Constitution and the rise of Ayatollah Khomeini as 'Supreme Leader' of the ancient Persian nation.
